PPPA – WEEKLY EMAIL BLAST

In this week's blast:

BACK TO THE TROUGH SYSTEM AT MONUMENT VALLEY PARK

The PPPA Board of Directors received many complaints that the original paddle-up system, using the trough, at MVP was not working.  After researching systems that were successfully implemented in other venues, the Board chose to implement the system where bins were placed at each court for paddling up.  There was certainly an adjustment period but once people became accustomed to the new system, most of the feedback was positive.  Change can be difficult for some and not all players supported this new system.  This has created unpleasant confrontations between players and is not in the best interest of the pickleball community.  So, while the new system is successful in other locations, it does not appear that it will be embraced by all at MVP and the resulting negative environment is not acceptable to the PPPA Board of Directors.  Effective immediately we will be returning to the trough system until we find a better one. Play one game to 11, win by two, and then give up the court to the next group waiting.
